Selena Gomez cannot stop, he will not stop showing his commitment ring.
Since the record producer Benny Blanco has proposed to Gomez in December, the 32 -year -old actress has shared a large number of Big Rock Instagram photos on his finger: an elongated marquise sparkler, set in a diamond -eternity band.
“I just dreamed of life all my life,” he wrote.
In fact, in his 2015 song “Good for you”, Gomez was compared to a diamond of marquise, a rare and unconventional cut with pointed ends that originated in the French court of the eighteenth century of Versailles. (He was said to be named after the Louis XV mistress, the Marquisse of Pompadour, and was shaped after the shape of his lips. Ooh la la la.)
“It is certainly a style for someone who wants to be a little different or avant -garde,” Jewellers Vice President London Scott Udell tells Alexa. “It is for someone who wants to stand out or at least not have a shape you see everyone.”
Gomez is not alone. It seems that these days, everyone wants to stand out. Forget -the subtle stones and designs that characterized the time of restricted cubica. The quiet luxury is over. The aesthetic “boom boom” is: business dresses, boughants, brand new and diamonds as large as the Ritz.
“I begin to see these retro styles that were popular in the 1980’s and 90’s,” says Udell. As for commitment rings, this means mark cuts more-more is more ethos. “These styles were eliminated for a while, but now they are rejuvenated.”
Take the huge stunner in the form of a pear from Adele from the Rich Paul Sports Agent: a fashionable ostentatious cut that coincides with the voice of the 36 -year -old diva power and the classic style.
“I think it’s impressive,” says Udell about the ring, adding that the Slim Platinum Band gives the staple of the 1980’s a modern touch. “I love the super fine band that the diamond floats. Really let it appear.”
Lady Gaga debuted a similar way to the Venice Film Festival last September. Although the 39 -year -old performer and his fiancé, Michael Polansky, went to find something completely original.
Designed by Sofia Jewelry, it has a brilliant oval ensemble in a white diamond diamond and 18 -kilometer diamond diamond band, which is then adorned with shady pink diamonds. There is even a white-diamond halo hidden under the central stone, in case anyone thought there was not enough spark.
“Challenging” and the actress “dune”, Zendaya, also chose a cushioned oval diamond for her commitment to “Spider-man” Co-Strella Tom Holland. However, the 28 -year -old fashion plate is known for doing things in their own way. The Georgia -style cutting configuration, in which a layer of metal surrounds the stone, has a sense of age. And instead of a vertical diamond, the stone has an east-west environment, which is said to symbolize an egalitarian relationship with the two partners working on each other as a team.
“It’s old and modern,” says Udell. It is the perfect ring for a woman who carries the most avant -garde avant -garde styles and the classic styles of the epoch of elegance and Applomb.
Like Zendaya, actress Emma Roberts also announced a vintage -inspired commitment ring. His (given by actor Cody John), presents a European round and cut diamond with, like the Zendaya ring, a thicker gold band.
Although the thinnest bands are still a more popular way of showing a large stone, Udell has seen that he has recently seen more brides gravitating to more intense bands to balance round stones and add texture and depth. “If done to climb properly, it may seem very nice and elegant,” he says. “And it can endure a lot of wear and tear, and this is the whole point. You have to design something that you can bring day by day.”
